Theology: Part I

My roommates and I had a very intense and interesting discussion last night about theology. Both of my roommates are searching for answers to what they believe in as far as religion goes. One roommate is in religion class at Baylor and is learning the history of the church as a whole, both catholic and protestant faiths. The other was raised in a certain denomination that was stifling and she grew up with a lot of questions that were never answered to her satisfaction. This lead me to begin searching myself, even though I'm very convinced of my beliefs, for the specific answers to some of the questions my roommates had for me.
In these posts spark an interest or if you would like to debate a certain point of view, please post a response! Let's talk about it! I'm interested in hearing about different perspectives and would love to dialogue with you! It is not my intention to offend anyone. I simply wish to have some accountability by posting my findings to you, the public, so that I can A) learn more; and B) have a way to document my journey.
I'm excited to tackle the first part of this adventure. I think I'll start by addressing Divine Grace. Stay tuned while I do my research!

Work...

I am sitting at my desk. My boss's boss just walked by and smiled at me, saying "Hi Sharon" in her very sweet voice. I'm listening to Pandora (can you guess what genre?) with my glass of water on the left side of my keyboard. Robin, Amy, Renae and Dawn just walked to the elevator and left for lunch, laughing and chatting as they went! It's lunchtime, so I should probably go and heat up my vegetable egg roll that I brought today. I know Danny would say that one egg roll and some rice isn't a good enough lunch, but it's enough for me!
After lunch I'll get to work on the storage labels....

New at this...

This is going to be a new experience for me. I'm not a deep writer; I'm not even a very competent writer. Perhaps this will enable me to become a better writer and communicator in general. I will probably be very honest on this blog...probably more so than some might like. If you read something you do NOT agree with, or if you would simply like to continue my thoughts, PLEASE do so! I welcome any comments and look forward to some intriguing dialogue.
That being said, what shall I write about first? Have you ever considered how many thoughts cross your mind in a day? How many subjects you could write about? How many issues you could address? For example, today I have thought about the difference between sweet'n'low and Splenda and why some people won't touch one or the other. I've thought about corporal punishment in public schools, which lead to another thought; corporal punishment in the home. I've been thinking about Valentine's Day and the story behind it. (It's quite fascinating and beautiful, you should research it!) I've thought about family dynamics and how crucial a family unit can be in a child's mental, physical, and spiritual development. I've thought about the song by Kellie Pickler, Red High Heels and how much I love the line "I'm about to show you just how missing me feels in my red high heels!" It makes me want to go out and buy a pair of 4", candy apple red, strappy high heels.
As you can see, my mind is multi-faceted. One-dimensional I am not. "Random" is not only my favorite setting on my i-pod, it is also my entire existence. And I wouldn't change me for half of Texas!
